This Shabbos aint gonna be a regular one, its the Shabbos before the Chanukah break and Bochurim are getting excited and looking forward to spending the remaining days of Chanukah with their families and friends. The Rosh Yeshiva who was being the guest speaker at Chabad of Centrepointe's "Absolute Shabbos with Chabad - with Rabbi Berger, and the Rabbi was kind enough to bring 4 Bochurim (Avremy and Heshi Goldfein, Yehoshua Rabinowitz, Yosi Einbinder) with him for Shabbos.
Mincha at Yeshiva was called in 812 for 3:20pm in order to have a Minyan for Mincha then the Bochurim can Light their Menorahs. Boruch Hashem no fires were reported, and as soon as the guys were finished Lighting, all came to the "Zal" (in 812) for Kabbolas Shabbos. The guy that lead us in the Service was Shliach Mendy Cohen, who brought some English style to the evening. After Mariv our dear Menahel Rabbi Smith announced that the Caytack family are inviting the Bochurim to come to their house at 7:30am and say Tehilim with a Minyan and get paid $10 with some refreshments. For the Friday night Seudah Bochurim went to have the meal by some of the Baalei Battim. Special thanks to the Chein, Krevsky, and Smith familes for hosting us.
Not all of the Bochurim made it at the Caytack's for the Tehilim, so the Minyan at the Yeshiva was pretty crowded. Shachris this morning was lead by Moishe Serbyranski, The first have of Keirah (till Chamishi) was read by Rabbi Hayes, while our regular Bal Koireh Yitzel Bluming rolled in and then took over. The Musaf service was lead by Dovi Small, and then right away Rabbi Smith announced that we will be praying Mincha right after Musaf is completed. The Chazan was the dude we always rely on if there is no one else) HaTomim Yossi Emunah all the way from Baltimore. After Mincha of few of the Bochurim went to the Shabbos Mevorchim Farbrengen at the Caytacks, while the others went to Yeshiva went to have the Seudah lead by Rabbi Smith. At the end of the Meal our dear Bochur Ari Eagle had three old friends from the Yeshiva in Napereville who came to Ottawa for the Shabbos, they were Moshe Wilansky, Binyomin Lasker and Yehoshua Zalmanov, all from Montreal.
Mariv was called for 5:15pm, then the Moitzaei Shabbos Niglah Seder by Rabbi Smith for 6:30pm. Then Havdalah was made by Sruly Estrin and then all headed to Light their Chanukia's in their Rooms. All the Bochurim were there on time as Rabbi Berger arrived from his Shabbos at Centrepointe. Classes were as usual and ended about after 7pm. He spoke to the Bochurim regarding the Seder for tonight till tomorrow night. He said "tomorrow there is two big events taking place, firstly the Grand Car Menorah Parade at 3:30pm starting in Downtown Ottawa then to parliament, then the grand Chanukah party at my house at 8:00pm".
