*At his Friday afternoon speech following the raffle, Rabbi Berger announced that the Shabbos Seder will begin at 5:15pm, making remarks of time getting much later then it was a month ago and so on. BTW the winner for the raffle was first time winner, Levi Cohen! Over Shabbos we had a special guest with the Yeshiva, he is Rabbi Best of Crown Heights who came with his wife to visit for Shabbos.
* Most of the Bochurim came early while others showed up through out the Mincha service. The schedule went a little quicker to the hungry Bochurim who mamosh were running in empty. We had the honor of Hatomim Sruly Estrin leading us in the Kabolas Shabbos, and finally kept his deal with he made with Berel Zak two months ago if he Davens, it was very nice and inspirational. Before "Kegavna" the Rosh Yeshiva came down to say a few words to the Bochurim. The topic was how the Parshios of Mishpatim and Yisroi are combined in their level. After the service Yossi Agulnik announced to the Bochurim that the Caytack family is offering those who come to their home to say Tehilim will get 10.00 after Shabbos, plus some mad refreshments. Following that, the Bochurim went to their pre-arranged hosts for the Shabbos Seudah.
* After the meals the Bochurim found the time to chat or Farbreng with fellow Bochurim, and some Chevrah got together in the "zal" for a grand game of Monopoly, oh! was it a game. After all it was not such a quiet night, the Shabbos "Lights out" took place at regular time.
* Tehilim this morning began at 9:00am with almost a Minyan there, about 10:00am there was overflown Minyan in the Yeshiva, there was no Chazen for the Tehilim, bit the Bochurim enjoyed saying it quietly with Kavanah and with lots of Hisboinanus. At about 11am Shmuel Kardash decided he will be delighted to lead Olam in the Minyan for Shachris, which was a serious quickly. When it came time for Nakdishach, from "Oz BeKoil" till "Yimloich", Kardash started five different tunes, by the 4th one he was getting lots of "Nu's" but he don't care for some reason. The Torahs were then brought out and Yitzel surprised the Olam with a nice and smooth Kriah. After Kriah of Shkalim with a packed Zal, a Chazan for Musaf was found, it was the Hon. Ari Greene, who brought some Cali spirits to the crowd, Thank you for a Job well done!
* Right after Mincha was Mincha was over, within seconds "Ashrei Yoishvei" was started by Dovi Small so we dont loose our crowd, Rabbi Shabse Krevksy did the Keriah while Avremy Goldfein did a swift Hagbah. After the Service the Yeshiva went into the Social Hall for the Seudah joined by Rabbi and Rebetzin Berger. It was a very nice and quick meal, a story and a Niggun and thats pretty much it. One of the Bochurim got a sharp line from the Rabbi which was asked not to be posted! The Bencthing began right away and the Mariv/Gemara Seder was announced by the Rabbi for 6:17PM. The Bochurim used out their afternoon for learning, farbrenging and of course some winks!
* Mariv began on time with the help of Rabbi Smith, and then Hatomim Ben Wexler lead the crowd in the Havdalah. Right when Havdlah was over the Gemara seder began and concluded at 7:15pm. The Yeshiva was waiting a little being that one of the classes decided they were gonna make the Yeshiva wait a little longer! After Seder was over, the Rosh Yeshiva said over a story "to get rich".about renowned Chassidim Reb Shmuel Ber Berrisiver and Reb Shmuel Geroinam. After the story he called Chasidus tomorrow morning for 8:15am.
