Record cold temperatures, combined with wind chill values between minus 30 and minus 39, made the morning commute in Ottawa Tuesday one of the coldest this winter.
School buses in the Ottawa region were running and schools were open, though a weather warning was still in effect for Southern Ontario.
Several schools cancelled outdoor events. Parents were advised to check with their schools for details.
