Yeshiva Ottawa Smicha Program (Archive Photo)Due to the recent financial crisis our Yeshiva has been going through
recently, the Smicha program was forced to relocate to a place which
will be more cost efficient. The two members of the Smicha program
have declined comment regarding the financial situation but have made
a seamless adjustment to the current situation.
After long and exhausting negotiations, the offer was made to Sholom
Ber Shuchat who now heads the Lubavitch Yeshiva in Myrtle Beach, SC to
take over the Smicha program, as he had successfully done during his
two-year tenure in Ottawa. Sholom Ber has agreed to forgo monetary
payment, as long as he recaptures his long lost title of "Rosh Machon
Smicha - Yeshivas Ateres Menachem of Ottawa". Since then, he has made
himself available to the Smicha students of Ottawa.
